Exams

Exam work is an important part of the Fiery Feet calendar. During this period, students work through the BTDA (British Theatre Dance Association) syllabus, in the disciplines of Ballet, Modern, Tap and Acrobatics, along with Lyrical for our older students. Technique, rather than entertainment, is our emphasis throughout exam work, and we aim to organise at least two examination sessions per annum.

An external examiner assesses the level at which students are working, taking into account factors such as presentation, technique, musicality, and style. Fiery Feet is proud to have a 100% pass rate, with 80% of our students passing within the highest-grade band.

The BTDA is recognised by the QCA, which is the governing body for GCSEs and A-levels in England. Therefore students are now able to achieve these qualifications in the vocational subjects of ballet, modern and tap.
